Memory Test FAQ
Answers about number memory, visual memory, recall, and how to interpret a memory score.
What does a number memory test measure?
It measures how many digits you can briefly hold and reproduce. It is a narrow working-memory task, not a complete measure of memory or intelligence.
How can I improve visual memory?
Use a consistent strategy, group items into smaller patterns, and practice in short sessions. Familiarity with the task can improve consistency.
Why does my memory score change?
Focus, fatigue, stress, distraction, screen size, and the strategy you use can all change a short memory-test result.
Does a memory score measure intelligence?
No. Memory tasks sample one ability under one set of conditions. They cannot describe intelligence, learning potential, or overall cognitive health.
What is chunking?
Chunking means grouping separate items into meaningful patterns. It can make a sequence easier to hold, but it also reflects practice with the task.
